Headset pairs fine and can see it as Bluetooth device but not as a sound output device. Tried Sony Bluetooth speakers and works fine. Other wired headset as well.

HI, I cannot get sound to connect to wh-1000xm3 with win 11.

I’m sorry that you are experiencing this issue.
Check Bluetooth Audio Device Services
1. Open Settings(Win+I) > Bluetooth & devices > Click on "View more devices"
2. Scroll down and click on "More devices and printer settings".
3. Right-click on your Bluetooth speaker and select Properties.
4. Go to the Services tab in the new windows and uncheck all services except Audio sink
Reinstall Bluetooth Drivers
1. Press Win + X to launch the Power menu and click on the Device Manager option from the list.
2. Scroll down and right-click on the Bluetooth adapter. Select the Uninstall Device option.
3. Click on the Uninstall button to remove the device and its drivers.
4. Now, restart your system. Windows will auto-download the device drivers.
5. You can also visit the website of the Bluetooth adapter manufacturer and download and install the latest drivers from there.
Restart Bluetooth and Audio Services
1. Press Win + R to launch the Run command box. Type services.msc and hit the Enter key.
2. Scroll down and find all the Bluetooth, Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder services in the Services panel.
3. If they are not running, right-click on the service and select the start option from the context menu.
4. Repeat the above step for all services containing the word "Bluetooth" in them. Exit the services panel.
Remove and Re-Pair the Headsets.
1. Go to the system tray icons area on the taskbar and click on the Wi-Fi icon. Then click on the arrow next to the Bluetooth quick settings.
2. Click on the More Bluetooth settings option located at the bottom of the quick setting pane.
3. You will see all the paired devices at the top of the page. Remember that you will have to enable Bluetooth on your system before you can remove the device via the Settings app.
4. Click on three dots (...) present in the top right corner of the Bluetooth device you want to remove.
5. Then select the remove option and click on the Yes button to remove the Bluetooth device.
6. Now, click on Add a device tile and then select the Bluetooth option. Once your Bluetooth device shows up, add it and then click on the Done button to exit the window.
Set the Headsets as Default for Playing Audio
1. Press Win + I to launch the Settings app. Then navigate to System > Sound.
2. Scroll down and click on the More sound settings option. Then select the Bluetooth device from the list and click on the Set Default button.
3. Click on the OK button and exit the window. Now, try playing audio via the Bluetooth device

Thanks, Did all steps but the last one , I cannot set as default as option is greyed out. I have tried everything but nothing seems make the WH-1000MX3 available as sound output on 11.

Just notice output speaker is working but Wh-1000Mx3 not showing in input ( as mic)
Hopefully it is just another option to turn on... ?
