[HELP] Windows 11 on TPM1.2

hey guys,

I know its a silly question but I wanted to ask, on windows download tool website they mentioned we can bypass TPM check and install windows 11 on TPM 1.2 but I am concerned if its going to make any problems using windows 11 normally or will I be getting security & windows updates and etc..

they said the system will be unsupported and not recommended, but the fact not every can get their hands on new systems and windows 10 services will be off in oct 2025 so what do we do here since

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/ways-to-install-windows-11-e0edbbfb-cfc5-4011-868b-2ce77ac7c70e

my main concerned here is the update stuff and will the windows function normally since I checked and from drivers I have option to upgrade but I know the fact that my TPM firmware is not upgradable since I am using HP Compaq pro 6300 SFF

kindly give your inputs and let us know, also 1 youtuber made a video to download windows 10 and 11 installation ISO extract both of them and then replace the setup file in win 10 to win 11 then burn or make a bootable USB to install windows 11 and according to them that is totally working fully and all windows and security updates will be available since the OS will be Windows 11 and not 10 on TPM 1.2

kindly give your inputs so I can take a step to either go for win 10 or 11 since I really need to upgrade for my needs

hope to get a quick response from community or Microsoft people

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Microsoft provided that registry edit to allow people to install Windows 11 on unsupported PC's and processors, I used that method to install Windows 11 on two unsupported devices and I never had any problems and I received all updates.. etc.

However, when version 24H2 of Windows 11 was released at the start of October, Microsoft indicated they would then block that registry edit method so the new version of Windows 11 could not be installed on unsupported hardware, so that method may no longer work to install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware.

The only thing you can do is to try the registry method that Microsoft provide, then donwlaod the new Windows 11 ISO and see if it will work to upgrade your system to Windows 11, it is not clear yet if they have blocked that method, no one has reported they cannot use that method yet.

It is not possible to edit the registry before a clean install from a bootable USB, because the registry would not exist on a cleaned drive, to use the registry method, you must upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 using the Windows 11 ISO.
