Helldivers 2 crashing immediately upon startup with a "BEX64" error. Fresh Windows 11 installation

Hello,

I recently replaced my motherboard in my system and made a fresh install of windows 11 on my desktop. I use my system for gaming almost daily, and have never run into an issue like this before. Upon starting Helldivers 2, I am met with a black screen that after ~15 seconds will hard crash and give me an error report. This will sometimes hard crash my windows, forcing a restart. I will provide the error report.

I have tried:

Updating GPU, CPU, and any related drivers

updating to new BIOS

Troubleshooting compatibility (this did nothing)

Verifying game files on steam

Windows memory Diagnostic (found issues, removed all but one DIMM, tested again, DIMM is functioning properly)

Ran game as admin

and some other misc. methods.

My PC specs are as listed:

Ryzen 9 7900X

RX 6900 XT

G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB DDR5 6000 (4x16gb)

X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7

Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 1 TB m.2 (x3)

EVGA Supernova G5 750

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello, DubzHD37.

We appreciate you posting in Microsoft community.

Benefiting from your detailed description, I noticed that you are experiencing BEX64 errors while playing Helldivers 2.

I'm here to help you analyze this issue and give you some suggestions.

BEX64 sometimes points to problems caused by the original account or computer's save file that was loaded when starting the game.

Try creating a new local account and loading Windows System and the game with the new account.

Please follow the highlight section of the Microsoft page to create a new Windows Local Administrator account:

You can also do a “Clean boot” to check if any third-party software causing the problem, follow the steps from the Microsoft official site:

How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support

Disclaimer: A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background service is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem.

Your update on the progress of the problem is the basis for us to move to the next step of troubleshooting.

Feel free to share with me your results after performing these steps and more information, I'm all ears.

Best Regards.

Good afternoon Jeffery,

I tired both methods you have mentioned above. The "safe boot" option made no difference on my main account, however the new local user account actually allowed me to boot and run the game! Now, I need to figure out how to i guess "repair" my main account so as to make it useable to myself again.

All your help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

You'll have to get support from Sony for their game not sold by MIcrosoft

Any and all contact outside of the forums will not be responded to.

Hello, DubzHD37.

It does seem that the problem is caused by a corrupt user profile.

In this case, you need to use a new, user profile that can run the game, while you try to do a transfer of your previous profile, refer to the Microsoft Support page for steps:
