Headphone Jack not working

Good Day,

I have a Lenovo Ideapad 100 150iby

The speaker is working fine but when I plug any type of Headset thru the Headphone port. It dosent detect it.

I feel like it's not a hardware problem because when I plug my headphones I can hear the Static when Im plugging it.

I tried using the "Playing Audio" troubleshooter but I've noticed when selecting the driver it says (No Jack Information Available) I tried everything but If you have anything that might work. please, all options are on the table.

Best regards!

Good Day Unknown,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.

First try to connect the headphone using a different device or computer for us to check if the issue is with your computer or the headphone itself.

If it does the same using a different device means that the headphone is faulty.

If the headphone works using a different device proceed with the steps below.

-Press Windows key + X
-Go to Device Manager
-Expand the Sound and Video Game Controllers
-Look for Audio driver that was installed
-Right click and Update
-Look for "Browse my computer for driver
-Let me pick drivers available drivers
-Choose an old driver and use it.

Connect the headphone and proceed with these steps.

-Go to Control Panel
-In Control Panel, select Large icons from the View by drop down menu.
-Select Sound.
-Select the Playback tab
-Right click the Headphone and click Enable.
-Right-click it again and select Set as Default Device.
-Right click Headphone and click Properties.
-Click the Levels tab, then drag the volume slider towards the largest value.
-Click on Advance Tab
-Uncheck the box to "Allow Application to take exclusive controls on this device"
-Click OK.

Restart your computer and test the audio.

If issue persist, proceed with these steps.

-Press Windows key + X
-Go to Device Manager
-Expand the Sound and Video Game Controllers
-Look for Audio driver that was installed
-Right click and Uninstall

Once uninstalled, go to this link and download and install the driver.

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/7j...

Once downloaded and installed restart your computer and test the headphone audio.

I hope the information above helps. Please let me know how it goes.
Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

Sincerely,
Carlo T.

Good Day, Carlo.

Thanks for this but all of them did not work....

I have a lot of "Headphones" showing but most of them are from a Bluetooth Speaker/Headphones.

I saw 1 "Headphones" with "High Definition Audio Device" as it's Label but It says "Not Plugged in"

I've tried Uninstalling and Reinstalling my Audio Drivers but I'll try again.

Best!

"High definition audio device" means that you are using Microsoft's generic audio driver, not using your audio chipset manufacturer's audio driver. So you didn't install your audio drivers correctly or that the driver is too old for your OS.

Otherwise, you would see "realtek audio" or "realtek high definition audio" or "conexant audio" or "synpatics audio" or C-media audio".

Try this 9132 driver from Microsoft update catalog. Follow the cab file installation instruction.

Good Day Unknown,

If issue persists, you may consider to perform clean installation, save all your important files in a external drive to prevent data loss and proceed with clean install.

Visit this link as reference.

If issue persists, even after clean installation, you can bring your device to a local tech shop in your area and have them check the hardware components of your device,it is more likely a hardware issue as you suspected.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

Sincerely,
Carlo T.
