Hard disk not working in windows 10

I just installed windows 10 and one of my hard disks, a old Maxtor 80gb disk is not working in windows 10 but it's work fine with windows 7.

Hard disk is detected in device manager under disk drives but when I go to disk management it ask me to initialize disk but gives a error.ImageImage

Hi,

Is this an external or internal hard disk?

Is the drive displayed in the File Explorer?

It looks like the drive is recognized by Windows but for some reason , it is not getting initialized properly. In this case, I would suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and check. Open Control panel, type "hardware" in the search box at the top right and select "Find and fix problems with devices' to run the troubleshooter.

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to visit the PC/hardware manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers and install it compatibility mode and check. Let us know the results for further assistance.
