Halo Wars 2 not launching on Windows 10

During my research, I found that the game is compatible with Windows 10, so you should be able to run the game smoothly. However, since the game is not launching. Let’s try some troubleshooting steps and see if that helps.

Method 1:

Try running the Store apps troubleshooter and see if that helps.

1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

2. Under Find and fix other problems scroll down and search for Windows Store Apps.

3. Now click on Windows Store Apps and click on Run the troubleshooter.

4. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Method 2:

Create a new user account, and check if the issue persists. Refer the article Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

Note: You may need to download the game again on the new user account

Hi

I ran troubleshoot. It found nothing

I setup a new user account and downloaded through store app. It still does not work.

Windows 10 version 1909, build 18363.476

Quiet PC, Intel i7 7600K, Nvidia GTX 1050ti, 8GB RAM

It works on an office PC that is Windows 10 build 1903. Similar spec. No use on a work PC though. Hope we can get it to load here.

What do we try next please?

I have reinstalled graphic drivers several times. Ensured C++2015 is installed. Run troubleshooters with no faults found.

I click play, it briefly flasheds on the screen then is gone. There is no fault recorded in event viewer.

I would suggest you to try running the game in Clean Boot and see if the issue persists. Refer the article How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Performing a clean boot will start the computer with minimal set of drivers and programs, to determine whether a background program is causing the issue. Some of the Startup programs will not load after performing a clean boot on the computer. However, that functionality will return when you reset the computer to start normally after finishing the troubleshooting.

Note: Please refer the section Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting to boot the computer in to normal mode after troubleshooting.
