GTA San Andreas Crash issue

Ok, I just recently downloaded GTA San Andreas from Microsoft store on my PC. However, it literally crashes every time i try to start the game. It will allow me to sign in but after that, to actually start the game it would crash. This is pretty frustrating as you may know but I would really appreciate if someone knew how to solve this problem.

in case my PC info is needed i have an MSI GF63 8RC, 5i, NVIDIA 5010, Windows 10.

Hi wakefieldkidz

Have you tried lowering your screen resolution to see if the game launches?

How much free space do you have on the drive?

Do you have it on C:\ or another drive?

Could you confirm if this also happens in the default Administrator account?

Open Start
Type: cmd
Right click CMD
Click Run as administrator

At the command prompt, type:
net user administrator/active:yes

Hit Enter

Close command prompt, restart, then try signing into the Administrator account.

Do you have the latest cumulative updates for Windows 10 1809 installed?

Open Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features
Scroll down to GTA San Andreas
Select it
Click Advanced options
Click Reset

Restart

Check the Store for updates

Hi wakefieldkidz
I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. I am here to work with you on this problem.

Please try these options one by one and check after each option.

1. Windows Key+R > Type services.msc and press Enter > Locate Background Intelligence transfer and ensure it is set to Start and Automatic. Also do the same for Windows Update service as well

2. Run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter
Windows Key+X > Click Settings > Click Update & security > Click Troubleshoot > Scroll down to the bottom > Click Windows Store Apps > Click Run the Troubleshooter

3. Reset Windows Store through Command Prompt
Type cmd in Windows Search box > Right click on Command Prompt > Run As Administrator > Type WSreset.exe and click Enter > Reboot your computer

4. Re-register All Store apps (You will get many Reds, ignore them)
Windows Key+X > Windows Powershell (Admin) > Copy the following from below and right click in Powershell to paste > Enter > Restart your computer

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

5. Uninstall & Reinstall Store
Windows Key+X > Windows Powershell (Admin) > Copy the following from below and right click in Powershell to paste > Enter

Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage

Copy the following from below and right click in Powershell to paste > Enter > Reboot your computer

Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
Do let me know if you require any further help on this. Will be glad to help you.

GTA-San Andreas at the MS Store ? How did you manage to find that ?

The game does not scale well to full wide screen anyway. Forcing full wide screen resolutions stretches everything sideways.

I have used 1680x1050 x32 in the past, which looks pretty good. I'm currently using 1600x1200 x32 (w/ a 2560x1440 monitor).

Also set your graphics card to maintain Aspect Ratio to be sure the game does not get forced to wide screen mode. Unless of course

you hate black bars on the sides so much you would rather see everything stretched.

(Nvidia Control Panel >Display > Adjust Desktop Size and Position > Scaling tab. Also set Perform Scaling On to - gpu .

I leave the Override scaling mode... option off. )

"NVIDIA 5010"

Typo ? Nvidia GTX 1050, yes ? You should have no problems running the game at a higher resolution.

Unless of course MS have managed to stuff the game up, as they do.
