Thanks -- couldn't find it in Microsoft store & internet choices seem complicated.

First of all Google Photos is not an app. Whereas Microsoft Photos is a full fledged app and available through Microsoft Store.

Google Photos is accessed through browsers on Windows 10 though there are some 3rd party free alternatives to access this.

The download link which you get for Google Photos is nothing but for backing up your photos and videos to Google Drive. To actually use your photos, you need to use browsers only.

I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

This is a good guide how to integrate Google Photos into the Windows 10 Photos app: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/add-google-photos...

I also highly recommend the new Google Drive backup which let's you choose any of your User folders in addition to Pictures to back up 15gb for free to their cloud where they are safest from theft, fire and hard drive failure. This is an auto-sync that doesn't require you to drag or copy files into the drive folder like OneDrive does.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

thanks Greg.  I'm wrestling a bit with all this and may have further questions.  Got many photos on Google now but some didn't make it.  I'll have to find time to follow up on this.

Google Photos is now working with my Windows 10.  Thanks for your help.  Can you help me with another item.  In consolidating photo files, some photos now carry today's date.  I need to change those dates back to the original.  I can do it in Google Photos but not Windows Photos (which I need to do, since Google is backup for Windows Photos, not the reverse).  I've used File Explorer to access photos in my laptop files & then tried to make changes -- but clicking on dates doesn't open any.  This is apparently the suggested method after exploring suggestions in the community -- but doesn't work for me.  can you help??  thanks
