Gmail often alerts me saying " new device signed into your google account, check activity"

Hi all,
On many occasions I've been getting this message in my Gmail inbox about a new device signed into my google account. By the way, it isn't the same devices that sign in always, it differs.

So today it  said New Samsung Galaxy S8 signed into your account, so I went to my google account and did the security checkup.
I signed out of that device, but what should I do? This is a  regular occurrence!

I've signed out of the device, how can I remove it permenantly?
Hi Aak. I'm Greg, an eleven years awarded MVP, Volunteer Moderator, and Independent Advisor here to help you until this is resolved.

It's from the Mail app on your phone and other devices. It's set to alert you when a new device signs-in so you can take action if you don't recognize the device.

If it's doing it every time you sign in, it probably means you have cookies set to be deleted every time you close the browser, so there is no way for Gmail to recognize the device when it comes back again.

Check the Settings for cookies in the browser or app that's it's reported signing into to make sure that your Google cookies are allowed to be stored:

I hope this helps. Based on what you report back I can answer any questions and may have other steps to perform. If you'll wait to rate whether my post was helpful, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Hi Greg!

The issue is not with my device, I've only a laptop and no other mobile devices are connected to my account.

In the above picture it's an 'unknown' device which has signed into my account, so I signed out of it from my laptop but cannot permanently remove it.

How can I do it?

I see. This is the best advice I find for those who have similar issues with their Google Account:
https://www.quora.com/An-unknown-device-got-con...
https://support.google.com/accounts/thread/1426...

However if you need further guided help I'd contact Google forums at the last link above, as this is Microsoft which is a completely different company.

If you're concerned about hacking here is how to tell and prevent it:

When I'm asked how to remember a long, strong password, I suggest a childhood street address + phone number you remember.

I hope this helps. Based on what you report back I can answer any questions and may have other steps to perform. If you'll wait to rate whether my post was helpful, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

The only thing I could do was change my password.

I'll try and ask in the Google Support Forums.

Thanks!
