Getting Error 0xc0000225 when trying to use the recovery partition.

Original title: WINDOWS 7 recovery error on hp dv4i-2100

I have an hp dv4i-2100 with windows 7 (64bit) OS. The OS & boot are running ok.....

but when I try to recover the OS using recovery partition, I get the following error:

"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

error 0xc0000225

the boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible"

On the other hand.....if I try using the recovery disks.....of the various recovery options given only the "factory reset" option works.....for the rest of the options I get the "error:0xe0ef0003"

I tried to figure out where the problem was and I noticed that.....after I do the factory reset....initially the recovery partition on the hard disk works ok....but as soon as I partition my hard drive(using the windows built in utility) the above discribed errors reappear.....

thanks for ur help......

I got the issue solved......

there were already four primary partitions on my hd(one of them "system" was hidden)....and when created a new partition......the basic drive became dynamic.....

and this was the source of problem.......

I had to get rid of "hp tools" partition and then was able to make an extended partition.....

so the drive remained basic.....and no more trouble with the recovery......

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.
