Games for Windows Marketplace Connection Error

When I try to open the Games for Windows Marketplace client, a error pops up saying:

"Connection error

Can't start the program. There may be a problem with your Internet connection or the LIVE service.

Open Internet Explorer and try to open a Web page. If you can't, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP). If you can browse the Internet, you can find more help in the Internet connection problems help file."

Obviously, I have no internet problems, but this has been going on for a few days now and I can't download the DLC I activated with my code on.

Having exactly the same problem. GFWL works fine, but I can't access the Marketplace program to get my serial number for a game that I paid for.

SAME ID DOWNLOADE AGE OF EMPIRES FREE AND IT NEED PRODUCT CODE WHICH IS BULL **** AND I CAN OPEN WINDOW MARKET BECAUSE OF CONNECTION ERROR IN THAT REGARDS MY INTERNET IS WORKING PERFECT I JUST PLAYED MAPELSTORY ITS SOOOOOO ANNOYING

same thing is happening to me....GFWL works fine in game but the marketplace wont open

Actually I've got the same problem and I browse the internet for the solutions, I've tried the full support suggestions, the re-instals and everything what you can imagine, tomorrow I will reinstal my Win7 than I will see maybe the GFWL doesn't like the Net.4, so I try to instal the Net.3.5 first. Will see what happens... :S

Believe me, I have already gone through that horrid excuse for a website, and all the information presented there is completely worthless. I tried contacting support, but all I could find was that stupid "contact an ambassador" **** which I tried mind you, but I was told to contact support, which is what I was trying to do in the first place... Please check the links you've provided, as the first one shows absolutely NOTHING about PC or GfWL on it. The second link is to some forums that I didn't even know existed on "xbox.com". The pinned posts all say stuff blaming everything on the users instead of their **** service. I will try posting there next. The third link shows a page I've ran into many times tying to navigate that site, and have already looked through it and tried it. Please understand that this worked last time I had checked, which was about a week ago, AND I am not the only one having this problem. It IS NOT anything to do with me, it isn't my fault, no matter how much M$ wants to shove that in my face.

I have done a total reinstall of windows to no avail....have reinstalled the program and run registry cleaners as well....uninstalled/installed .netframework 4 before and after install....nothing works....GFWL connects when I open a game but the marketplace will not open
