Fujitsu Twain fi-5015C scanner not recognized after upgrading to Windows 7 64-bit from 32-bit.

Hello: I bought a Scanner fi-5015C and I recently switched from a Windows 7 (32 bits) PC to a Windows 7 (64 bits) PC. Unfortunately, my new computer does not recognize the scanner. I already downloaded the Twain Driver 9.2.1 and the Image Processing Software V2.5" Trial Download (Vista / 64bit OS), from the Fujitsu website, but without any success. Should I change my scanner or is there a fix?

I would like you to answer these questions:

 

1.     What is the exact and complete error message that you receive?

2.     How did you install Windows 7 64-bit?

3.     How is the scanner connected to the computer?

4.     Does the scanner work when connected to other computers?

 

Here’s what you can try:

 

Method 1: Run the automated troubleshooter and check if the issue is resolved.

 

Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows

Method 2: Un-install and re-install the drivers and check if the issue is resolved.

 

Step 1: Un-install the driver.

 

Follow these steps to do so:

 

a.     On the desktop, press Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open the Device Manager.

b.     Search for the scanner and right-click on it.

c.      Select Un-install and follow the prompted steps.

 

Restart the computer when prompted.

 

Step 2: Scan for Hardware Changes.

 

a.     On the desktop, press Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open the Device Manager.

b.     Click on Action in the Menu Bar and select Scan for Hardware Changes.
