Finding a Win 11 product key in the Windows.old folder

Hi, I've been used Win 11 on my PC.

Recently, my PC got stucked by BSoDs, so I re-installed Windows 11. But because of the PC status, I couldn't retrieve the product key and the windows edition.

So, I wonder how I get the product key from Windows.old folder and which Windows edition that I installed before.

The PC is registered in my Microsoft account, but I cannot find the key.

Hello, have you figured it out? I'm experiencing the same issue. I bought this laptop with windows activation key, I tried using my old activation key but it didn't work.

You cannot locate the product key in the Windows.old folder. This folder only contains files and folders from your previous Windows installation.

By default, when you sign in with your Microsoft account, the key (digital license) will be automatically detected, and you no longer need to activate the product separately.

To find the product key installed on your device, you can use the Showkey Plus app from the Microsoft store.
