Feedback Hub - Insider and non-Insider accounts cannot see each other's topics

It seems that if a topic is started in the Feedback Hub with an Insider account, the topic is not visible to those with non-Insider accounts, they will get the message "Your account doesn't have access to this feedback".

Equally, if a topic is started in the Feedback Hub with an non-Insider account, the topic is not visible to Insider accounts.

To test this, try these two links. My guess is only one will work for you depending on what type of account you have. I can view both topics, but only by switching accounts in the Feedback Hub.

Note: moderator accounts may be able to bypass the restriction.

Insider accounts are not necessarily using preview builds. Even if you sign up for a preview build for one day and revert back, the account will stay as an Insider account forever after. Therefore keeping the feedback from Insiders and non-Insiders invisible to each other seems like the wrong thing to do, as it limits the number of people who can see each topic.

So is this a bug or is it by design?

Put this in feedback both ways.

This is an issue several of us who are Windows Insider MVP's with special voting rights are currently experience a problem with. The recommended solution is to use a non-Windows Insider Microsoft Account to open, view and vote on the Feedback at this time.

It does seem like having two accounts, one Insider and one not, and posting twice in the Feedback Hub is the only way to go.

Wouldn't it be better to post twice in the Feedback Hub, one with an Insider account and one normal account, so that everyone can see it?

Have Microsoft said whether this behaviour is by design or a bug?

That would create duplication, but then again, I'm sure others are also posting the same report over and over again too, which would be duplication.

Based on what I have heard, it doesn't seem to be a bug, but more of a flawed design with how the system handles who can and cannot view feedback.

I don't really see it as duplication, since you can never see both posts at the same time in the Feedback Hub, you'll only ever see one or the other. Maybe moderator accounts can see both simultaneously, but I'd have no way to verify that.

It's definitely something Microsoft need to look at, since getting upvotes in the Feedback Hub is very much dependent on who can and can't see the feedback. It also makes sharing links to Feedback Hub topics awkward, since you never know whether the people you share the link with will be able to open the topic or not.
