Feature update Windows 10, Version 2004

Good morning

When I checked for updates, a feature update Windows 10, Version 2004 is installing.

During the process, I came up with a window showing Uninstall the app McAfee Live safe because it is not compatible with Windows 10.

What changes will the update make? Does the update is genuine? If yes, why the preinstalled McAfee need to Uninstall?

Yes, the update is legitimate.

The message you get is because the Live safe version is likely out of date. Most of the older programs can lead to compatibility issues hence Windows advises you to uninstall. What you should do is as per my suggestion, uninstall McAfee and update your PC. Reinstall the latest version as soon as it completes.

You can reinstall it again, that would not be a problem.

You can also check for updates as the McAfee doc suggests if you do not want to - but the chances are, update may still show blocked.

Follow these steps to manually update your McAfee software:

Double-click the McAfee M icon in the Notification area in the lower right of your screen. Or click the M shortcut on your desktop.

On the home screen of your McAfee security software, click PC Security.

Click Update McAfee App, and then click Check for Updates.

Wait for the update to complete. Depending on your current version, it might take a while.
