Feature update to Windows 10, version 1909 Failed to install on 11/13/2019 – 0x60244022

Just did an update and at the end, found these messages:

Feature update to Windows 10, version 1909(2)

Successfully installed 11/13/2019

Feature update to Windows 10, version 1909

Failed to install on 11/13/2019 – 0x60244022

So is the "fail" message number (0x60244022} a part of the update or just a code number for the failure of my first attempt?  It is a bit confusing to me.   I mean why does a failure need a number?

Hi Hesed, I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 2-Year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

The update history lists all the attempts, from failure to successful. The topmost item is the latest activity, which looks to be successful in your case in second attempt.

I would still verify the build and versiom number from Settings>System>About and make sure it is 18363/1909.

Hello,

If you can't install a feature update using Windows Update, you can upgrade to latest Windows 10 version using its ISO file.

Download the ISO file from here:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO

Then perform the upgrade, using this step-by-step guide:

https://www.kapilarya.com/how-to-upgrade-to-windows-10-using-iso-file

Or you can also perform the clean install with this guide:

Hope this helps!
