Failed to login into dlink dnr-202l using microsoft edge

After upgrading onto Windows 10, I am not able to login into my device dnr-202l. I got login screen; but failed to login with user ID and password entered.  Launch Internet Explorer and be able to login to device with the same user ID and password.

Microsoft Edge build: 20.10240.16384.0

Internet Explorer 11 build: 11.0.10240.16384

Anyone has a same problem?

Hi,

I am sorry to know that you are unable to log into dnr-202l using Edge.

I suggest you to delete browsing history and check if it helps.

Microsoft Edge and privacy: FAQ

Also try to open the edge in InPrivate and try to access that website and check.

Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.

Hi Kalpana,

Thank you for your reply.  I did what you suggested; but the same issue showed where failed to login with user ID and password; however, the same user ID and password work when using Internet Explorer.

First steps:

  1. Launch Microsoft Edge
  2. Click more options (...)
  3. Select "Settings"
  4. Click button "Choose what to clear" under "Clear browsing data"
  5. "Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data, Cached data and files" are selected.
  6. Click "Clear" button
  7. Open new tab by clicking "+" sign
  8. Enter IP address to open device (DNR-202L) login screen
  9. In the login dialog screen, enter the user ID and password and click "OK" button
  10. Dialog login screen shows again.  Do this step 3 times and get message

Access Error: 401 -- Unauthorized

Access Denied, Authorization enabled.

Second steps:

  1. Launch Microsoft Edge in private mode
  2. Enter IP address to open device (DNR-202L) login screen
  3. In the login dialog screen, enter the user ID and password and click "OK" button
  4. Dialog login screen shows again.  Do this step 3 times and get message

Access Error: 401 -- Unauthorized

Access Denied, Authorization enabled.

Please let me know, if there is anything I can provide to solve this issue.

Regards,

Glasgow

After several Microsoft updates, I am able to login to DNR-202l.  The only issue that ActiveX is not supported with Microsoft Edge.  This issue irrelevant with the original issue.

The only issue that ActiveX is not supported with Microsoft Edge.  So what will this mean for the product support going further as ActiveX continues to be sidelined due to vulnerabilities?

Vendor needs to change how their product is going to work with Edge.  It seems that the only way since Microsoft forces the continuation of the using of ActiveX.  I am surprised that D-Link not already update their software to work with Edge.  As far as I know before the release of Windows 10, D-Link should already have pre-release Windows 10 software, and they should make a plan on how to solve the ActiveX not supported in Edge.  For consumers until D-Link fix the issue with ActiveX, either use other browsers (chrome or firefox) or use the old IE.

I don't think Dlink support Chrome and FireFox either for Windows 10 platform. so I am stuck now, can we install old IE along side the Edge? since i'm on a Microsoft Surface and I can't seem to install older IE.
