Facing multiple issues on my HP Laptop

I am facing all these issues contemporarily:

1. Caps lock does not work properly: When I type it's something like "HELLo hOw are yOu"

2. Number keys, Shift keys etc. Do not work, instead the symbol appears when type Number keys

3. Every new tab opens in a new window.

4. The "Scroll Up/Down" feature does not work properly (sorry idk what it's called)

I tried Clean boot and the issue still appears and options like Updating or Deleting keyboard driver. Num lock key, but none of them helps.

I was facing these issues together a few weeks ago, they re-appeared all of a sudden.

I am certain that all the problems that I am facing are linked to each other, they seem to appear and dissapear together.

See this to rule out drivers;

Win11 by default only installs critical security updates, unless you made the mistake of selecting “Get latest updates” which includes drivers.

See your laptop makers support to update both bios and ALL drivers.

There should be a shortcut to that makers update utility on your system.

Then set Bios to defaults & Pwr to balanced. At the end of the day shutdown, do not leave in sleep.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

1
Open Command Prompt, then run this command and press Enter:

msdt.exe -id KeyboardDiagnostic

Run that Keyboard Troubleshooter to see if that can solve the problem.

2
If that does not solve the problem.

If you attach an external keyboard to your laptop, does that keyboard work correctly?

If you bring up the on-screen keyboard, does that keyboard work correctly?

Hi I tried the troubleshooter and It does not fix the problem.

Secondly, I do not have any other external keyboard to attach with the laptop, but I tried the On screen keyboard and I am still facing the same problems.

1
If you bring up the on-screen keyboard, before you type anything, is it indicated any keys are already pressed?

2
Right click your Start button and open Device Manager, please provide a screenshot of that window.

1. When the first time I tried the on screen keyboard, the Shift key seemed already pressed, I opened the on screen keyboard again and shift key isn't indicated as pressed as before, the problems seem to be resolved, number keys and caps lock working fine as well. But I am sure the issues will reappear a little later, as usual.

If the problems are now resolved, please wait to test if the problem no longer occurs.

If the keyboard problem does return, go to the support page for your laptop on the HP website, then from there, download and install the version of Chipset drivers they recommend and while there, if you do not have your drive encrypted with Bitlocker, check for any BIOS update that may need to be installed

Since the problems reappeared, How do I check if my drive are encrypted with bitlocker or not?

Also, I googled about BIOS Updates, and it's mentioned that it can damage the motherboard in some cases, so I am afraid if I should make an update or not? Are there any points that I need to keep in mind before installing the latest BIOS that is available for my laptop?

Open File Explorer, then go to 'This PC', if there is no lock icon on any of your drives, then they are not encrypted.

Okay, if you do not want to update your BIOS, please just re-install the chipset drivers from the support page for your PC.
