Extracting files from zipped folder is very slow

I have a zipped folder of size 280 MB, this folder contains json files and the total size of the folder is around 500-600 MB. While extracting the files from the zipped folder, the speed is only 5-6 KBps and shows that it'll take more than 8 hours. Please let me know how do I make this faster?

Note - Using Windows 10 with 8GB RAM and 500+ GB storage available. New PC no virus/malware.

System Details -

PC - Windows 10.

Hi itsron143

Do you use a 3rd party Security Suite or do you used Defender?

Whichever you use, try temporarily suspending that, while unzipping that folder (if you trust the source) and see if the extraction speed increases . . .

I don't use any 3rdy party apps and I have turned off Defender but the speed is still around 20 KBps.

Hi itsron143

Try just copying and pasting some other large file on your hard drive, does that perform that copy operation at the usual speed, if so, your hard drive is Okay.

If that is the case, the archive you are extracting may be corrupt

Are you using Windows own built-in zip file extraction or some 3rd party zip utility?
