Expand Math Input Panel

How can I make the Math Input Panel expand further? The line in the bottom picture is an attempt to make the input panel to expand. The top picture shows as much of the expression as the input panel will allow me to write. Perhaps a support ticket would need to go to Microsoft's support team suggesting virtually limitless expansion of Math Input Panel (similar to the virtually limitless amount that can be written on Tablet PC Input Panel).

In that picture is 205 instances of the string Daisy!

Why I need the Math Input Panel expanded:

1. My handwriting is generally large, so I use each grid square (rather than writing "freehand" style) to compensate for that.

2. Wolfram Research reintroduced the input panel in Mathematica 10. It was present in version 8 and removed in version 9. I have tried splitting the expression. But, by doing that, Mathematica treats the parts of the expression as multiple grouped expressions (for example, 2+3+4 might become 2+3(+4)). Because of that, I get incorrect results.

Hopefully, someone will understand my problem and perhaps send in a support ticket to Microsoft requesting an update to the Math Input Panel. Having a copy of this post (less the part after "… incorrect results.") (or a link to it) is strongly recommended.

Hi,

I tried the issue on my computer it worked fine. Once you start writing on the Math Input Panel and reach to the right corner the panel will automatically expand. If this does not happens in your tablet then I suggest you to go to Turn Windows features off and on and turn it off and then turn on again and check.

Follow the steps given under the section “How do I turn features on or off?” of the link given below. Follow the steps given to turn off the feature and then you can follow the same steps to turn in ON. From the list of Windows Features chose Tablet PC Components. Check the picture given below.

Note the absence of Tablet PC Components. But, I glean from your post that the Math Input Panel should have continued to expand in the second snip that I provided. I see that the computer on which you took your screenshot runs at most Windows 7 (judging by the presence of Windows Virtual PC (replaced by Hyper-V in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1) and Windows Gadget Platform (not used in Windows 8 or Windows 8.1)). In that vein, perhaps Math Input Panel is buggy in Windows 8.1. I use a Surface Pro 2. Thank you for trying to help me, though, PranavMishra5582.

I love Daisy (デイジー)!

Hi,

I apologize for the incorrect screenshot in my previous reply.

Please refer to the steps given by Ronnie Vernon in the link given below. He has mentioned that "In Windows 8, the Tablet PC Input Panel is no longer available. The Touch Keyboard replaces this component and the behavior for this component has changed".

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-tms/how-do-i-turn-on-tablet-pc-input-panel-in-windows/f8d12e47-1f4b-4a50-8b91-032f60f28384

I suggest you to check the issue in a new user account and check. If you have another user account then check in that else you can create a new user account and check it. Follow the steps given in the link below to create a new user account.

Create a user account.

Thank you for the reply. It turns out that there are 2 different components that perform the same function. The component within Mathematica (the component in the screenshots in my initial post of the thread) does not expand beyond the screen's resolution and possibly not beyond the full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution. Since I use a Surface Pro 2 instead of a Surface Pro 3 (I used the HP Slate and was not as impressed with N-trig's digitizer technology as I am with Wacom's technology. I dislike battery-operated pens.), I cannot test the higher resolution. The Math Input Panel application does expand beyond the full resolution, but its expansion is still insufficient to fit some of the expressions that I use.
