Exclude terms from search

I have a bunch of music from several different albums mixed into my library.  I'd like to include music from every album except one in a playlist.  How do I search for music that is not in a certain album?  I feel like I should be able to just say album:-<albumname> in the search bar, but that doesn't work.

Hello
Welcome to Microsoft answers

(A). Try these steps to exclude items from a search:-
To exclude an item, use NOT or a hyphen (-). For example, type "Dido" NOT "Life for Rent" to view all songs by Dido except those that are on the "Life for Rent" album. Or, type -Rock to see all songs except those whose genre is Rock. Note that NOT must be typed in capital letters.

To search for an exact phrase, enclose it in quotes ("). For example, type "Easy Listening" to search for items that contain the entire phrase.
