Event ID 18 WHEA-Logger

Newly built PC getting black screen crashes after opening games. I have tried everything and nothing seems to help.

I have also attached the LiveKernelReport dump file

WHEA-20240107-1416.dmp

PC Specs:

Ryzen 7 5700X

Asrock Phantom Gaming RX 6800 XT

AsRock B550 Phantom Gaming ITX

16GBx2 Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600 MHz RAM

Cooler Master v850 80+ Gold SFX PSU

Thermalright Frozen Prism 240 Black ARGB

Details:

After launching games, the computer does a hard crash after a few minutes. This only happens when playing games, not when browsing/using the computer normally. CPU and GPU temps are in the low 50s, RAM passes MEMTest, also ran AIDA64 and FurMark, no issues there. Disabled Fastboot in BIOS, as well as disabled EXPO/XMP, Global C State and Core Performance Boost in BIOS. GPU and CPU drivers up to date, even installed AMD's PRO drivers instead of the standard drivers to see if that would make a difference. So far reading the forums and doing what others say worked for them, none of those seems to work for me. I can replicate this issue, upload to YouTube as an unlisted video and attach the link if that is also needed to help troubleshoot Here is the log from event viewer:

Hello and welcome to the Microsoft Support Center

According to your feedback, your computer crashes on a black screen when playing games.

You can try clean boot

Perform a clean boot as follows:

1. Click Windows+R and type msconfig.

2. Open System Configuration and select General tab - Selective Startup.

3. Remove the checkbox of Load startup items.

4. Go to the Services tab - click Hide all microsoft services in the lower left corner, and then click Disable all.

5. Click OK and restart your computer. (Be sure to select Hide all microsoft services first and then click Disable all, otherwise it may lead to unforeseen problems such as not being able to access the system.)

6. Check to see if the problem still recurs.

DISCLAIMER: Clean Boot is a way to start Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine if background programs are interfering with your games or programs and help you figure out the cause of the problem. It will help you get back on track.

Also, I would like to ask if your computer only has this problem when you play games, if so and you have a different video card, you can change it and try it out, it could be the video card or you can you open a different game to see if it still crashes, if none of the above solves your problem you can upload the video to us and we will analyze it further

We hope the above information is helpful to you, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions
