Hi CM. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 9 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

The Version 1809 Update has been pulled due to reported file loss, so I would wait until this and any other problems are fixed and only then download the latest media from media Creation Tool to run it by the most stable Method: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...

If any problems report back the verbatim error and number, then continue with these steps for overcoming Version Upgrade problems: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

The media will likely be changed so that's the reason I'd wait.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Thanks for your feedback.

Do you have any entry corresponding to this in Event Logs?
Type event in Cortana search > Click Event Viewer > See if any log corresponding to your date and time is there (Look under all entries under Windows Logs such as Application, Security...) > If yes, right click on that log > Save Selected Event > Zip all event files which correspond to your event, upload them to Onedrive and share the link here.

Good day.

I do Technical Support for Medical practises in South Africa. Expertise is not the problem here.

I received an Event ID 1534 warning on a Windows 10 machine after the 1809 update that was installed on 12/11/2018. Since that date my eventlogs have been filled with the warnings. My machine has become noticeably slower. Not much on this error on the Internet.

Please assist.

I have read those. Which key is to be deleted? Tdl or tld? You are so full of it.

Do not download this!!

There is no fix for this. Roll back to earlier version. I think 1803 still stable.

1.

TDL, I'd say...

You might also want to read through this thread....

I can't verify it since I don't have access to a Windows 10 machine...

2. Huh?

Good day Greg,

The update came through as most Windows 10 updates, under the radar. So in essence this update, 1809, was delivered to a machine, in November/December after the update was pulled in October. The update created an issue where an event 1534 warning will be logged each time you required elevated priviledges. It took three days for the warnings to create a 20 mb application event log. That is a lot of warnings. This slows the machine down quite a bit.

After a week's struggle, lots of reading and two calls to MS I restored my Windows 10 to update 1803. Thank you.

All the links forwarded requires a third party download to mess with your windows security in the registry. Never a good idea. My issue was the update that was pulled by MS slipped through. There is no fix for the issue as the update was pulled. Basically the problem is related to live tiles on the Windows start menu, or so I think.
