Errors after changing hardware

The reason I ask you to do this is because no one of millions who have followed the install in that link has ever come back to report problems that I have seen. It is also a great learning experience that will make you permanently the master of your PC because you will learn what works best and have applied it with your own hands.

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

Update your drivers and BIOS/UEFI firmware from PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

Updating drivers from the Device Manager or Windows Update is rarely enough. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is keep the latest manufacturer's drivers installed from their Support Downloads web page.

If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, is the most stable method to advance to the latest version, and solves most problems. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...

When you change the motherboard, the only activation that will survive is one done with a purely retail Product Key. Factory or builder's OEM keys die with the first motherboard installed upon. If you want to reactivate you need the Product Key, and may need to contact Microsoft Support on weekdays by one of these phone numbers:

Whether you can transfer your Windows 10 depends on the type of license you have. If it came preinstalled on your computer, then it is an OEM license. OEM licenses are tied to the first Motherboard they are installed on and can't be transferred. If you purchased your Windows separately from Microsoft or another authorized agent, it is a Retail license and can be transferred. If your license is OEM, you will need to purchase a new license from Microsoft or another authorized agent. What type of license is yours?

It was a retail windows 8 disk. I upgraded to windows 10.

Thank you for your reply. I tried almost everything that you listed to no avail. My question is do you have any idea why I would be able to bypass the error by spamming continue to windows, and why the installation window to repair your computer only pops up in a low resolution after spamming enter? Also this problem only occurs after shutting down my computer and turning it back on, not for restarting. On my most recent boot I got a digital signature could not be verified error.

Those errors appearing means the media is not being properly booted to bypass Windows and enter boot mode to install. This can also mean the media is bad, which you can test by booting and queuing it up for Custom install on another PC to see if it proceeds correctly. Make sure all other drives and peripherals are unplugged. Update the BIOS or UEFI firmware to latest, or reset to Defaults, making sure (if you have it) UEFI is enabled, CSM or Legacy BIOS disabled, Windows Boot Manager set first to boot, if necessary disable Secure and Fast Boot until after install, set SATA controller to AHCI, Save changes and Exit. Create the latest Windows 10 Installation Media by installing Media Creation Tool and following the directions here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m.... If you're using another PC to do this uncheck the box for Recommended Settings to choose the exact version and bit rate for the target PC only.

If the media won't boot you may need to enter BIOS/UEFI Setup (pressing key given in chart in link above) to turn off Fast Boot or Fast Startup first. If you can start Windows enter UEFI firmware here: http://www.isunshare.com/windows-password/four-...

The media may also be bad, so confirm it boots and queues up per these steps in another PC, or else recreate it. You can also try a DVD, or the alternate download site from MS TechBench here: https://tb.rg-adguard.net/public.php. Choose the boot device as a UEFI device if offered, on first screen press Shift + F10 to open a Command Prompt, type the following commands, each followed by Enter key:
DISKPART
LIST DISK
SEL DIS # (replace # with the disk # of the Windows disk from list in previous command)
CLEAN
EXIT

Close Command Box, on second screen choose Install Now, then Custom Install, then at the drive selection screen choose Unallocated Space, click Next to let it create needed partitions and start install - this makes it foolproof.

Make sure to follow the setup steps in the first link tutorial to complete your install. Drivers are important enough that those steps are printed in red.

You will get and keep the best possible install to the exact extent you stick with the steps, tools and methods in the first linked tutorial. It's a better install than any amount of money could buy and a great learning experience that will make you the master of your PC.

If all else fails you can move the hard drive to another PC to do the install with it plugged in alone. Windows 10 is remarkably adaptive to new hardware without needing adaptive restore. If it will start it will swap out all drivers requiring several restarts. You can also try applying a same-version System Image to the intact SSD/hard drive.

Just did the clean install like instructed. Theres was a problem getting into the installation window as like before i had to spam enter for it to pop up. Checked on another computer and it ran fine. After booting computer error occured again. Xould this all be caused from the windows activation problems i had before?

No, Activation would have nothing to do with behavior during install including in the boot mode which is more likely a BIOS issue.

I followed the steps and wiped the c drive. I still get the missing or damaged kernel and digital signature error. How would i check to see if it is an issue with the bios?

Also in the event viewer it listed multiple driver issues with things like HID Compliant headset due to a usermode driver crash

Have you updated the drivers from the PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads web page?

Is the error blocking the install or setup or any of it's function?

If you've disconnected all other drives and peripherals and wiped the drive then the error must be from hardware so Stress test the hardware:

HP and Dell have hardware diagnostics triggered by tapping the ESC or F12 keys respectively as you power on.
