Error on Windows 10 install (0x80004005)

I am trying to install Windows 10 since the Technical Preview and have not been successful. Initially I thought it was a bug of TP, but apparently not as also get errors when Windows Update try to install some updates (goes into an update loop)

I tried upgrading to W10 and also received the same error that happened when I tried to install the TP. Looking at the file "setupact" I found the setup log. Now there's a copy of which I believe has initiated the error:

PS: The installation reaches 100% but when it will restart an error occurs and the installation is aborted

I ran the script provided by Suzy G with administrator privileges, then tried to install using the ISO DVD. It failed with error code 80200056.

I then reran the script, and tried to install from the download. It failed with error code 80004005.

These attempts were made with no devices attached to my computer except keyboard and mouse.

Ever since upgrading to Windows 10, I've had nothing but problems, and they are getting worse.  First, my windows store app no longer works, therefore, I can't download any apps from the store.  Now I get this error (0x80004005)when trying to update Flash Player.  I've had this issue for the last 3 days, problem still persists.

Try the following methods and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I would suggest you to reset the Windows store.

Follow the below steps:

  1. Press Windows key + R from the Desktop and click on Enter.
  2. Type wsreset.exe and click on OK.

Method 2:

I suggest you to reset the Windows Update components. Refer the section manually reset Windows Update components in the below article to reset the windows update components.

Hi,

To solve your issue, please go to c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

winkey + R > type c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download hit enter key

when you get in, click inside on the blank space > push on your keyboard ctrl + A to select all the files and folders then delete them all.

after deleting them try to update again. Leave a feedback
