Error Message using Windows File Recovery

I accidentally deleted the contents of my D:\DOCUMENTS folder. I tried the Windows File Recovery app and keep getting the "There was an error parsing your command. Please check /? for more information and try again." error message. I am not entering something correctly. I should have added is that I have the documents that are intact up to April 1, 2022. I am looking for anything that was changed after that. I haven't used the computer since the deletion.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Betsy

Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

I think you need to add a trailing backslash to the end of the filter, for example:

winfr D: C: /n Users\Betsy\Documents\

Kind Regards,
Elise

Hi Elise: Thank you! This recovered the jpg files. It didn't show anything from the Documents folder on the D: drive. Do I need to add that to the string or is just D: supposed to pull up anything that is on the D: drive?

That's right if you just put D: it will search the whole drive. Unfortunately this app is more a best effort deal, so its not always effective at recovering files.

Kind Regards,
Elise
