Error code 80073701 when downloading service pack 1 for windows 7.

I've tried on numerous occasions to update service pack 1 on my new Lenovo desktop, but each time, it fails due to the error code 80073701.  Any idea what this error is linked to?

I've tried updating service pack 1 numerous times, but the process has failed each time.  This is a brand new Lenovo desktop.  Other than this update problem, everything else seems to work fine.

I am guessing you did a Windows Anytime Upgrade to Pro?   That seems to be what is causing my upgrade failure, and thus I too need an answer of how to fix this!

Finally got it.  In my case, it was something wrong with the installed update for kb978262.  I uninstalled that update (kb978262) and the SP1 update finally worked.

Tried everything listed on this forum - no luck. Still can't install Service Pack 1. Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit, full version, no upgrade. I really do not want to reformat Hard drive and start from scratch. Maybe someone from Microsoft could at long last yunk "the finger" out and help? Sorry, I am frustrated, have no time or inclination to play with something which ought to be straight forward task. Anyone more ideas?
