This is the error pathway that I keep getting when trying to install .NET Framework 4.  I have uninstalled the .NET Framework as was suggested because of possible corrupt files and can't seem to reload it.  My end goal is to download Garmin Map updates but I can't do that without the .NET Framework 4

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi AECrow,

The error code 0x800C0005 always comes together with  download failure.

This behavior may occur if certain dynamic-link library files (.dll files) are not registered correctly or if there is a firewall between the computer and the Internet that does not allow HTTPS (SSL) connections.

Also, based on the error code 0x80072EE7 from the error log that you’ve provided, if you’ve a problem with your internet connection.

·         What happens when you try to re-load Microsoft .Net Framework 4? Do you receive any error message?

·         Which anti-virus software is currently running on your computer?

As of now, I would suggest you to try the steps mentioned below.

Method 1: Run the fix it under the section “0x80072EE7 error code” from the link given below.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883821

Alternatively, you can try the steps mentioned in the link give below.

You may encounter temporary connection-related errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836941

Method 2: Re-register the following DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files

a.    Click Start, click  Run, type  cmd in the  Open box, and then click  OK.

b.   At the command prompt, type the following commands. Press ENTER after each line:
regsvr32 Softpub.dll
regsvr32 Wintrust.dll
regsvr32 Initpki.dll

c.    Click OK.

d.    Restart your computer.

Now check if you're able to install Microsoft .Net Framework 4

Method 3: Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Setup Installation failed with error code: (0x800C0005)

You can also try the steps suggested by Andrew datedWednesday, January 05, 2011 6:48 AM from the link given below.
