Error code 0x800b0109 Help!

Hi I am running windows 7 home premium and can not install any updates nor run the windows troubleshooter due to the above mentioned error code 0x800b0109

I have tried manually downloading them and installing but get the same error.

Can someone please help me to fix this error?

I have tried simply restarting, scanning the laptop for viruses etc, running troubleshooters is a no go and i am going crazy trying to find a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Error 0x800b0109 usually occurs when a file needed by Windows Update is corrupted or missing. We suggest that you use the System File Checker tool to repair damaged Windows files. Kindly follow the steps below:

  1. Open an elevated command prompt.
  2. Run the "sfc /scannow" command.
  3. Try to install update again.
