Error 0x8029040e when setting up PIN

I just installed a new CPU and after booting I can’t use my PIN. In the settings it says it’s not available to me. After deleting the NGC folder to try and make a new PIN, I get ERROR 0x8029040e when submitting my new PIN. Please help, I have tried browsing many articles

Hello Du Hamell,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Microsoft Answers Community.

The PIN is stored in the TPM chip inside the CPU. if you have changed the CPU, you are unable to use the PIN.

Error 0x8029040E means that the data currently stored in the TPM is invalid. Since you have changed the CPU, it should ask you whether to clear the TPM. Did you clear it?

If you did not clear it, do you still have the old CPU? Also, what are the models of the old and new CPUs?

We look forward to your response.

Hello Sheng. G,

I have encountered a similar problem, as you said before this can happen if you change CPU, but I have not. But I did face an unexpected power outage just as I was shutting down my PC, maybe that messed something up. But in essence I am getting the same error as Du Hamell, I hope you can help me.
