END ADS FOR THE WINDOWS PRO USERS PLEASE

Where do I start?

I found this among my disks of 23 years past.

interesting, no ads, no registration for a subscription,

it just works.

I also have Microsoft Money .

did I mention this is running on windows 11?

Well, I guess I don't need to buy Microsoft works

this after all, is The original disk I bought 20 + plus years ago.

the other program is Print Master Gold.

I am glad that this still works after 20 some odd years.

I have a lot of this older but cool software laying around.

so, my question is this,

can we please remove the ads for windows PRO?

after all we the consumers did pay for the professional version and

we shouldn't have to have ads nor should we be subjected to suggestions.

I mean in real life we can say, I don't want to hear your suggestion to the person and walk away.

we should have an option to turn off suggestions. We also should not have our computers.

downloading software, we did not ask for.

I mean how would you feel if someone drove to your house, with a tow truck and delivered a car that is broken down and suggest paint it red, and then when you get rid of the piece of junk another car arrives and the cycle continues? or maybe one day 10 junk cars show up? Because the towing company says hey look this guy likes cars let send him 10 cars to fix.

Look, I know you're a big cooperation, I know you want to force people to do the things you want to do I get it that you make money, but all forcing ads on people do is make them want to turn to other products.

Who knows someday Samsung's DEX will mature enough that it will be a formidable opponent.

and no mater what you try to buy out, complain, sue, or whatever the case may be, People won't tolerate it, no matter the pretty words you try to use.

I know marketing ploys when I see them

all Iam asking is to end ads on Windows 11 pro, or I am going to remove it from the internet and use my machine as a storage device only. a nearly 2,000-dollar storage device.

And use Samsung Dex.

I used to really like windows, it was fun, it was easy to use, and there wasn't much competition.

but now, I am wondering if I paid for windows, why should I have to put up with intrusive ads?

SO, I am asking , Will you please end ads one Windows 11 PRO.

and I saw on hospital computers they had no ads and no suggestions.

Hi ASUSTUV,

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

Manage your interests and ad settings

Depending on your ad settings, we personalize the ads you see based on your browsing activity by Microsoft users and other data you share with us. You may see ads based on your interests, favorites, location, demographic information, how you use our products, Microsoft Bing search, and other content. You can learn more about Microsoft's advertising practices in the Ads section of the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

From the Microsoft Privacy Dashboard, you can edit your interests and control your ad settings. Here you can choose whether to personalize Microsoft ads for your Microsoft account on all devices.

If the Show ads of interest setting in the Microsoft Privacy Dashboard is turned off, Microsoft won't use that data for personalized ads, including browsing history, regardless of whether personalized ads and experience controls in Microsoft Edge are turned on.

Turning off viewing ads of interest that you set on the Microsoft Privacy Dashboard does not turn off the collection and use of search activity for search results, content in newsfeeds, or other personalization settings in the Microsoft web experience. To turn off this collection and use Microsoft Edge search activity, do the following:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.

  2. Settings and other > Settings select Privacy, Search, and Services.

  3. Under Personalization & ads, turn the Allow Microsoft Edge and Microsoft services like ads, search, shopping, and news to personalize Microsoft Edge and Microsoft services by storing browsing activity, including Microsoft history, usage, favorites, web content, and other browsing data, on or off.

Additionally, you can use third-party ad-blocking software or browser extensions to block ads on your computer.

To learn more about additional Windows controls, including personalized experiences, check out Diagnostics, feedback, and privacy in Windows - Microsoft Support

More information about our privacy policy

For more information about how Microsoft processes personal data, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement. If you can't find what you're looking for, or if you have privacy questions or concerns, contact our privacy team.

Lastly, it is worth noting that hospital computers may have different settings and restrictions in place to comply with privacy and security regulations. Therefore, the absence of ads on hospital computers might not necessarily be applicable to regular user computers.

I hope this information is helpful to you. If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Your Sincerely

To make all of what has already been suggested clearer, the ads have nothing to do with the version of Windows, they're based on your Microsoft Account, since that's how advertising is delivered as much of what the MSFT tagged agent provided implies.

Microsoft doesn't care what version of Windows you purchase, since they make little to nothing off of these any longer, while the real money is made by the entire industry today by tracking and selling user behavior. Only by switching to something like a Linux distribution with limited popularity are you likely to avoid this and even that Samsung DEX product you mentioned is likely to be similarly monetized at some future date if it gains any real user base, since Samsung is one of the largest device manufacturers in the world and realizes the potential advertising sales this could provide.

I've spent many hours when setting up a new device of any sort; PC, tablet or smartphone, learning all of the privacy and advertising controls offered by both the device and especially the associated account(s) in order to reduce this useless 'noise' to a minimum.

Today's advertising ecosystems are utterly stupid, since they are still basically paying the delivery platforms for 'clicks'. Since many people such as myself spend time doing searches for others either here, or family and friends, unless we suppress this advertising we're constantly bombarded with useless ads which we have no interest in, since we long ago completed our research for these items and have moved on to other things.

It's only the great mass of typically less intelligent users of popular social websites that are often driven by this mass advertising, as has been true of all previous media like TV and print before them. The difference now is that the advertisers have more direct access to your daily activity, so it's much more difficult to avoid as you've noticed, though there are some relatively simple things you can do in Windows settings to effectively neuter their ability to collect much of your personal activity.
