Edge: disable search from address bar

Is there a way to disable search from the address bar? The Advanced Settings doesn't allow me to select 'blank' for the search engine, or remove all engines.

I want my mistyped URLs to result in a 'not found' error, not in a redirect to a search engine. And I don't want 'search as you type'.

Thanks and regards,

P

I think I've figured it out: use Internet Options from Control Panel.  The settings dialogue within Edge doesn't seem to offer the ability, but you can Manage Add-ons via the "classic" Internet Options . The Bing Search Provider add-on can be configured to disable "Search in the address bar..." and also to disable suggestions.

Edited: as a_992 says, this setting only affects IE, not Edge.  So, not answered. Still a problem in Edge.

Unfortunately, this does not work. It works with Internet Explorer but not for Edge

We have customer ticket tracking software.  To open it, we type a certain word in the address bar.  Bing tries to find stuff on the internet pertaining to that word.  Edge seems to be as bad as Windows 8 at this point.
