May I know when did the issue start? Is there any changes made before you got this issue?
Have you tried to connect the external dvd drive to other computer and check if it will be detected?
What is the exact model of your dvd drive?
Kindly check and follow the steps below:
1. Please unplug and properly plug in the DVD drive.
Please restart your computer and check if the issue persists.
2. Run Hardware troubleshooter
Please press Windows key + R
Paste the command below to the Run box and press Enter:
msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic
Please restart and check if the issue persists.
3. Please try to uninstall and reinstall the DVD drive driver and check if the issue persists.
