Duplicate OneDrive Shortcut on File Explorer Pane

I've been recently using OneDrive and noticed that I have 2 of the same shortcuts on the left pane of File Explorer, which for me is quite irritating.

I am running Windows 11 Professional 23H2 Build 22631.4169 and have installed all the latest updates.

I have tried multiple troubleshooting methods;

  • Resetting OneDrive

  • Reinstalling OneDrive

  • Deleting the OneDrive folder from the User folder

  • Making the folder hidden

  • Configuring the Registry from various sources

  • Unlinking and re-linking the account to my computer

Note that reinstalling Windows is a last resort option and I would prefer to stay away from it as much as possible.

Hello, this is Emily.

When you said two of the same, I believe you meant no matter which one you clicked on, it took you to the same folder/files, right?

If so, type regedit in the search on the taskabr and press enter to launch Registry Editor. Then go to

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace

Now click through each of the sub folders, on the right pane see if you have two OneDrive listings? You want to check all of the sub folders under "Namespace". If you find two sub folders with the same Onedrive folder listed, you can delete one of the sub folders.
