Does the Windows 10 free update have an expiration date once downloaded?

I have reserved my free W10 upgrade. Once the software has been automatically downloaded onto my computer, is there a time-limit for installing it? Can I wait 6 months if I need to ?

It downloads automatically and you have 1 year from July 29th 2015 to July 28th 2016 to install it.

The Get Windows 10 app will provide with a tutorial of how the reservation works.

  • You'll get a notification after Windows 10 is downloaded to your device. Install it right away or pick a time that's good for you.
  • After it's installed, Windows 10 is all yours.
