Does the new Media Player share library with itunes

I have on my machine iTunes with a library of songs. When I open the Media Player that came with Windows 11 it shows me the same music as iTunes. Is it only because the iTunes folder is in the Music folder, or is there some deeper integration/sharing? What would happen if I rip a CD in Media Player, will it automatically show also in iTunes?

Answer
Hello there! I am Charity, I'm an Independent Advisor. I'm glad to help you today!

Thank you for the information. Yes, if both Windows Media Player and iTunes monitor the default "Music" folder, so they show the same music library without direct integration. If you rip a CD in Media Player, the files are saved to this folder, and iTunes will detect them automatically (and vice versa).

To keep both libraries synchronized, ensure both apps monitor the same folder.

Please let me know if you have any more questions, I'll do my best to respond as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,
Charity
