DLNA - Playlists

We Have a Samsung TV which supports DLNA & we use it extensively to stream videos and music from our Windows 10 PC to our Samsung TV. We have a growing library to stream and would like to create Playlists. Playlists can be created in Windows Media Player but, my question is, how do you get the Playlists to be recognised and display on the TV?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Hi td

My name is Andre Da Costa; an Independent Consultant, Windows Insider MVP and Windows & Devices for IT MVP. I'm here to help you with your problem.

My understanding is, the playlist needs to first be in the M3U format in order to stream to a DLNA supported device. Also, it depends on the amount of songs you might be trying to stream, it should be kept at around 1000.

You can also use alternative software such as Plex that better supports streaming different types of media playlist to DLNA devices.
