Distorted/blurry fonts/text on Windows 10

This problem may be due to an outdated video driver or system conflict. As you just updated your PC, some changes may have occurred that resulted in this problem.

You can try the steps below to resolve problems with distorted icons and blurred text:

1) Type cleartype and select Adjust ClearType text.
2) Check the box next to Enable ClearType.
3) Click Next and follow the instructions provided.
4) Click Finish at the end of the instructions.

If the problem persists, update your video adapter drivers by following the steps in this forum article created by Andre Da Costa.

I changed the ClearType selections and it looks slightly better probably. I'm taking about Word right now, the difference in characters when their randomly bolder or thinner is much less noticable. I want to know why the written text is like this only in Word. For example, I'm now writing this message in this box of this forum, and the text rendering is okay. What do I do to make it look good in Word also?

Anyway, how do I know which is the best combination of selections to use in ClearType? I mean, I have to try like tens of combinations in order to determine which is the best one.

Have you tried to adjust the compatibility settings of the Microsoft Office programs? If you haven't, then let's adjust it to improve its appearance. Follow these steps:

Click the Windows icon, then File Explorer.
Open Microsoft Office folder.
Right-click the icon of the Office program with blurry text and click Properties.
Click the Compatibility tab and check Disable display scaling on high DPI settings.
Click Apply, then OK.

Try to see if this procedure too:

You have to go into your system's Program Files folder > Microsoft folder > Office16 [or whatever version you have-- mine is Office16].

You are supposed to then see your Microsoft Word Icon in the Office folder (Mine does not show the icons however, I had to search in the 'search Mircrosoft Office' box for "Word" and wade through the results to the Icon itself).

Once you see your Office icon, Right click on it, select properties... The pop-up menu will be called "wordicon Properties."

You should see the Compatibility tab here.

The Override check-box we are looking for is toward the bottom, under Settings. Select it and then select "apply" at the bottom. Done.
(So, for Windows 10, You have to go to the icon in the program file itself to get the compatibility tab, shortcut menus and such will not provide that tab)

Tried it, doesn't fix the issue.

Edit: Anyway, I tried WordPad for example, and the texts are fine there.

Already tried the fixes in the video (with a restart) and they didn't work.

Edit: Also, ClearType doesn't affect Word at all. On the other side, it affects WordPad.

Here's the part I don't understand...

Hello, I recently bought a new Asus x509ja laptop, installed Windows 10 ...

A "new"  X509JA comes with Windows 10 pre-installed at the factory, and it comes with a warranty.

Anyhow, I've tried changing the compatibility setting only in 2019. I'm now trying to change it in 2013 also to test if it works on that version, but the "Compatibility" tab is missing from the properties of the program.
