Disable WINDOWS + Space Bar shortcut to switch between languages

Hi,

I'm on Windows 11 and recently noticed the shortcut "Windows + Space Bar" will switch between my computer's languages and keyboard layout.

Shortcut used to be ALT + Shift and could be disabled by going into Time & Language > Typing > Advanced keyboard settings > Language bar options. This path still exists and I have disabled the key sequences there but this stupid "Windows + Space Bar" shortcut seems to be forced on you with no way to be disabled.

I don't know why the hell Microsoft decided to add this unnecessary shortcut, so my question is how to disable this?

Alternatively, would be interested to know if there is an easy way to roll back to Windows 10.

Thanks!

Hi HLBB,
I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.
This shortcut already existed on Windows 10, it is not new on Windows 11.

There is no setting on Windows to disable this shortcut, but you can use PowerToys to disable keyboard shortcuts. Download it at the link below.

https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/releases...

After installing PowerToys, open it, go to Keyboard Manager > Remap a shortcut.
On "Physical shortcut" press "Type" and press the Windows + Space Shortcut, on " Mapped to" select "Disable" on the dropdown menu.

If I helped you anyway, It makes me happy.
