Disable F12 Developer Tools

Original title: F12 Developer Tools.

I use windows 10..IE11

How do I disable F12 developer tools ('new tab'; 'select element' etc.) that appear sporadically

as pop-ups using ordinary websites??

I tried the Gear Icon in IE to disable them...all I get is a split screen between ordinary text and programming code

in the bottom half of the screen.

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

We understand your concern and will certainly help you to get your query resolved.

Provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

1. Which version of Windows 10 is installed in the system?

GP Edit is not included in Windows 10 Home edition.

If you have Windows 10 Pro installed on the system then follow these steps and check if it helps.

1. Type all users, specific users or groups, or all users except administrators Local Group Policy Editor in the search bar for how you want this policy applied.

2. In the left pane, click/tap on to expand User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Internet Explorer, and Toolbars.

3. In the right pane, double click/tap on Turn off Developer Tools.

Hope this helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help.
