DIRECT 3D INSTALL FREE

trying to download free direct 3d, computer is asking for ,keeps coming can't install needs direct 3d

Are you sure you are logged in as an Administrator?

Click Start Button
Observe/Record Account Name at top of menu.
Goto Control Panel
Switch to Classic View
Double Click User Accounts
Look for the Account Name that you just saw and recorded in Step#2
Next to the Account Name mentioned in Step#2, do it say "computer administrator" or "limited account"?

If you are already logged in as an Administrator and try this link:

if it doesn't work write down the error message so you can tell us later and then try the XP Update Site: Start->Control Panel->Windows Update

If the windows update site doesn't work, then replay back with all errors.
