Difference between chkdsk /r /x and chkdsk /offlinescanandfix

What is the difference between chkdsk /r /x and chkdsk /offlinescanandfix ?

Hello,

When you run chkdsk /r /x, you are forcing the volume to dismount first (which also locks the drive for chkdsk to run), fixes the disk, and then locates bad sectors and then attempts to recover readable information, as well as additional analysis of physical disk errors. chkdsk /offlinescanandfix, it just runs an offline scan and fixes errors on the volume (also needs the volume to be dismounted).

Is this what you're looking for?

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Both commands basically do the exact same thing, they both run check disk on an unmounted drive, they scan and attempt repair errors on the drive, the /x switch forces the disk to unmount to run the scan.
