DELL latitude 5420, Control Vault w/ Fingerprint Touch Sensor problem

Hello!

I have problem with DELL Control Vault w/ Fingerprint Touch Sensor

on windows 11 its working very unstable at logon screen, when i wake up my laptop - it works from time to time - when logging with different method (PIN) - in other applications or in settings (adding second or third fingerprint) - all works :-\

tried:

- reinstalled OS several times

- drivers upgrade (many versions of them)

- latest windows update

- many different advices from different resourses (like disable energy saving etc.)

- replacing sensor at service center

checked events of this device, at time when sensor is not works, have errors like:

Maybe someone faced problem like this, or have thoughts about it

In Windows, search for and open Sign-in options.

If the Set up button is available under Windows Hello Fingerprint, click Set up and then follow the on-screen instructions. For more information, see HP PCs - Set Up

If the Set up button is not available under Windows Hello Fingerprint, go to the next step.

In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.

Click the arrow next to Biometric Devices to expand the category. Verify that the fingerprint reader is available.

I recommend doing an "in-place upgrade". This will download Windows 11 installer files and use those to update and repair your system.

You can follow the video guide in the below link to know how to get it done:

1. Please visit this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-downlo...

2. There you will see an option "Download tool now"

3. A media creation tool with the latest version will be downloaded.

4. Open it in the file location and run it as administrator.

5. Accept the terms and licenses.

6. Select the "Upgrade this PC"

7. And then the downloading will start.

8. Press "Install" once done.



The system will restart several times and the updates will happen.
