Dell Inspiron 9400 and ATI X1400 with Windows 10

Hello, community,

does someone know the latest driver for the ATI X1440 for my Dell Inspiron 9400 Laptop?

This is what I did so far to install Catalyst 8.10 on my Windows x86 version 10.0.16299.201 (includes Januara 2018 patches):

0) connect power! (do not run on battery)
1) boot in "safe mode" to install X1400 driver on top of Microsost legacy driver:
    run "msconfig"
    section "start"
    select "safe boot"
    end + reboot
2) update driver from microsoft download center:
   https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=x1400%20windows%207
3) remove "boot into safe mode"
    run "msconfig"
    section "start"
    uncheck "safe boot"
    end + reboot
4) boot into normal windows
5) download & install catalyst 8.10 driver "as usual":

    https://filehippo.com/de/download_ati_catalyst_vista/4778/

6) in power-options set option for ATI-card to "max performance" when on battery!

    -> otherwise BSOD when on battery!

As a result I have got the driver version 8.561.0.0 install (date 01.12.2008).

Is there any newer version available???

Wieso besorgst Du Dir Treiber über irgendeine obskure Quelle?

Was sagt denn DELL dazu?

Dell macht es sich da recht einfach:

Treiber gab es nur für XP und Vista - beides ja nun "End of Live".

Und für neue Treiber sieht man da wohl keinen Markt, selbst wenn das Gerät problemlos unter Win10 funktioniert.
