Delete fingerprint data from a deleted user account Windows 10 Hello

I had set up Windows 10 Hello with a fingerprint scan on my user account. I then created a new administrator account and deleted the first account. Windows Hello says that I have already used the fingerprint for another account, even though I already deleted that account. How do I delete the fingerprint data from the first account, so that I can set up my new administrator account with the fingerprint that I want to use?

Hi,

You can follow these steps on how to remove all fingerprints from your account:

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Click on the Accounts icon.
3. Click on Sign-in options on the left side, and click on Remove for Fingerprint under Windows Hello on the right side.

Let us know how it goes.

There is no "remove" button.  I want to remove fingerprints on all accounts, including accounts that I have already deleted. This suggestion does not work.

Hi,

For better assistance, we would like to know more information about your concern. What is the current version and build of your Windows operating system? You can check it by pressing Windows+R, type winver and then click OK. You can send us the window that you get about Windows and the screenshot that you get when you try to remove the fingerprint under Windows Hello.

Regards.

Follow these step to solve the problem:

1. Remove current fingerprint.

2. Uninstall fingerprint driver software (Control panel> Uninstall a program).
