default windows lock screen failed windows 10 error id 5973

since I upgraded from windows 7 to Windows 10 my lock screen keeps failing after sleep mode, windows default lock screen failed error id 5973, if you manually lock the system it works OK, it only creates error after sleep mode, this was not a problem with Windows 7 only since upgrade to Windows 10 and only after sleep mode, if you manually sleep system lock screen fails generates error but manually lock system no error ? any suggestions would be helpful thanks.

Please follow the methods given below to resolve this issue:

Method 1:

You can check if you incur the same issue when logged into Safe Mode. You can refer to the link below to log in this mode: Also applies to 10

Safe Mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs don't run in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Method 2: Clean boot

If the issue does not persist in safe mode, then perform a clean boot to from safe mode to check if any third party application is causing the issue, as clean boot helps in eliminating software conflicts.

Note: Once you are done with the troubleshooting, perform the steps in “How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot “to reset computer as usual.

OK problem I did what you said to try safe mode but the problem is you can not test to see if problem is still there because there is no sleep option in safe mode ??????????????? and as I stated the problem with lock screen is when computer comes out of sleep mode, if you manually lock system it works OK, there is no way to test sleep mode in safe mode manually or by time ??????????????????? please respond thanks. this was not a problem until upgrade from windows 7 to windows 10.

OK, problem continues the error happens after every sleep mode, I followed steps from first reply did not help at all, then I replImageied on 9/2 no answer ? , still waiting for next reply ? thanks.

I'm having the same issue.  After being in sleep mode for a period of time I cannot resume without forced reboot.  I see the same error about default lock screen.
