This is a summary of the cumulative updates released on May 12th 2020 for all the supported consumer releases of Windows 10.

Servicing Stack Updates

Do you have one of the listed processors? If so, keep it.

If not, uninstall it.

And I, too, am only an ordinary 70 year old windows home user.

And Windows 10 does not provide all updates you need.

Your manufacturer provides some of those as well and you need to check those by going to your manufacturer's website.

Mine is Hewlett Packard note how they provide additional support free of charge:

All reputable manufacturers do that. Even Dell does that.

Lost all wifi password and printers.  Microworst at its finest again.

After the new update i am unable to get into my files or anything else. I have a huge cursor which just spins

I can only suggest you contact Microsoft. And this is not the place to do that.
You need to contact either Microsoft or your Computer Manufacturer for help.
