CSR V4.0 Dongle on windows 10 PC

I recently purchase this product to use to connect my Bluetooth earbuds with my PC. I have inserted the dongle into the USB port however the PC will not connect with them. I have the mini disk supplied with the dongle however I have a standard size disk drive.
Usually CD drives are capable of playing mini discs, there should be a smaller round indentation on the CD drawer.
What is happening when you try to connect? Is there any error message?

There is no error message. When the dongle is installed the PC has the Bluetooth indicator. I then attempt to connect the PC goes into the search mode but, does not find the earbuds. They connect right away with my android phone.

According to the manufactures instructions once removed from the case they are detectable for any device.

That might be correct for connecting with a mobile phone but with a PC there may be extra steps involved.
Are the earphones Windows 10 compatible?
What is the make & model of the headphones

You may have to follow the instructions for pairing the headphones with multiple devices:

I have found nothing which indicates they’ll work with PCs.

I know Apple's Beats work well with both phones & PC as I use their Bluetooth one with my iPhone & PC. They're not cheap though.
There's going to be new totally wireless buds available soon.

I've had a thought
As the headphones automatically connect to the first device to which they're registered - in this case your phone - perhaps this is why they're not showing up on the PC.
If you turn off Bluetooth on your phone hopefully the headphones will go into pairing mode again when they're removed from the case.
