Creating batch file on Win10

Hey, this is someone's previous answer of creating a bat file but it only works if you dont change the file name first to "*.bat" before you open the file:

  1. Open the file

  2. Click Save As

  3. Select the desired location

  4. In the File name field, type Whatever.bat

  5. In the Type field, select All files

  6. In the Encoding field, select Ansi

After a few minutes i figured out the problem why I couldnt create a bat file with this method because I changed the name to "*.bat" BEFORE opening the file.

BUT it actually works with changing the name before saving if you go to save as-> go file name and delete the letter "t" from Whatever.bat and then retype it again and save it. Now it will create a bat file.. I think if you make any changes in the name it will work after..

I saw many people had this issue and they didnt figure out how they solved it. If this is how it works its really **** up tbh..

Am I missing something?
