CPU utilization - secure frame server helper

Hi,

I am running

Edition Windows 11 Home

Version 22H2

Installed on ‎2023-‎04-‎12

OS build 22621.1555

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22640.1000.0

fslso.exe is causing my CPU to run at high capacity causing my computer to overheat. I can't find what this program is supposed to be doing and why it is running multiple instances.

What is it?

Does it need to run?

How can I stopped it from unnecessarily increasing my CPU usage?

Thanks

I am using a different antivirus, i.e. avast.

Are you suggesting the problem is with the antivirus? the computer is 30 days in use and this problem has been there from day 1.

Dear Natacha.

I found some post on web. Some of these post speak about Avast antivirus.

I bought a payment version of Avast and starting from it's installation I found problem with CPU usage.

I found some process (more than four), under the voice secure frame server helper.

I tried to uinstall Avast and these process stops.

CPU usage on my LG Gram passed from 60% to 5%.

Each of these process use more or less 10% of CPU.

Uninstall Avast.

Bye

Hi I am no computer techy but I have found a solution - so far. I have deleted two files in System32, I hope they don't re-appear as I know some files can.

The files were connected with Bio Recognition (I think). I don't use that to log in I just use a pin, I also cover my camera which may be part of the problem.

I have a new LG Gram17 (2023), these two files with their associated processes made my CPU go bonkers.

The processes were: Secure Biometrics and Secure Frame Server Helper, the respective files in System32 were Biolso.exe and fslso.exe.

I made a restore point and then deleted them but it was tricky because they are protected by Trusted Installer - You will find a walkaround to get round this on Google. Good Luck

Well the fix is still good but I encountered a new problem that I think must be related, that of

"Windows 11 Welcome Screen Stuck".

So I followed this fix: https://www.diskpart.com/windows-11/windows-11-welcome-screen-stuck-0725.html

I followed Method 3 Opt 1 (But didn't do the Safe Boot), I just disabled "Credential Manager".

Everything Ok for now but I will see how it goes.
